About Nick V.

In 2016, I returned home to alma mater as Senior Director of Athletic Development and am responsible for all fundraising activities in support of St. John’s Athletics. In 2018, I was appointed the Adminstrator for the Men’s Golf Program and served in that capacity until 2022. From 2012, I was Director of Development for Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens|Futures in Education and was on the executive management team of Generations of Faith — the most successful capital campaign in Diocesan history (over $130 million). From 2008, I was President & CEO of the Cabrini Mission Foundation, where I was responsible for guiding development for Cabrini institutions of healing, teaching and caring around the world. Prior to Cabrini, I served as the Vice President of Development at the United States Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Foundation, and was part of the senior leadership team for Kings Point's $45 million capital campaign. I was also the Director of Development for five years at my high school alma mater, Xaverian, where I oversaw a $10 million capital campaign. I originally worked for over two years in the Office of Institutional Advancement at St. John’s during the university’s $150 million capital campaign. My first development position was at La Salle Academy. As Director of Development, I oversaw La Salle’s $2.1 million capital campaign – the largest in the school’s history. A fight sport and racing enthusiast, I am a founding member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Bernard Council. In 2012, I was inducted as a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. In 2013, I was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Xaverian. I was also honored as "King of Kings County” by Courier-Life Publications. In 2016, I was awarded an honorary degree from La Salle. I received my B.S. degree in Journalism from St. John’s in 1991. The love of my life, Ismini, and I have been married for over 26 years and are the parents of twins, Nicky and Katey, who are recent college graduates from St. John’s and Syracuse, respectively.
