About Nick Vehr

Graduating from St. Xavier High school and moving on to The University of Cincinnati I have come to love everything this city has to offer. Rich in character and history, this city is home to some of the largest businesses in the world, of which I am fortunate to have worked at a couple. As a young kid I was drawn to Computer hardware, whether it was tearing a stereo down in my parents garage, or saving a whole summers worth of grass cutting earnings to purchase parts for my very own computer. This is where my passion for computers really began and grew into what I am fortunate to have been able to make a career out of. My love for computers morphed into an obsession with technology and before I knew it I was interested in video game, and even began to dive into Java in high school. I still enjoy video games, but can no longer keep up with the times and am quickly in over my head when playing competitively. I have developed a broad knowledge of cloud infrastructure. Focused mainly on Amazon Web Services, I was able to develop skills from design to implementation. Architecting, building and implementing virtual offerings for family members and friends in order to realize some cost savings in their own personal businesses. I continued to work on my project management skills as I dove into the world of infrastructure on a professional level. Managing 10-15 projects at a time I was able to maintain budgets, time, schedule and risks while delivering a cost saving design that would suit the customers needs. Today I am always looking for the next challenge, a chance to learn something that I probably know nothing about. Everything is an opportunity to learn and perfect skills that we currently have. I believe that no one is truly the best, but to always strive to deliver your best.
