About Nicki Moore

Nicki is a specialist in career learning and development. She has experience of working with a range of disadvantaged and minority groups including young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, the traveller community, and those from minority ethnic backgrounds. She has developed career learning projects in primary, and secondary schools, with training organisations and in the community and has worked on a number of international projects including most recently, support to the Croatian employment services to develop a national life-long career guidance service. She has experience in the development and assessment of quality awards for CEIAG. In addition Nicki has experience of developing and delivering both accredited and non-accredited teaching and learning programmes for professionals working in the development and delivery of CEIAG in schools and colleges. and the National Careers Service in the UK Nicki held the position of Chair of the Institute of Careers Guidance, Career Education Committee from June 2006 to March 2013 and was an ICG council member during this time. Nicki’s interests have lead her to undertake research in a variety of CEIAG related areas including; • Primary schools career learning • IAG delivery across learning communities • Training needs analysis • The quality assurance of CEIAG • The evaluation of careers-related websites • NEET engagement programmes • Equality and diversity issues relating to career decision making and progression Nicki’s current research projects include; • Children and young people's gendered perspectives of career and work in Wales, • Evaluation of Local Area Co-ordination pilot in Derby City, • The career learning experiences of young people who are or have spent time as NEET, Nicki is a Fellow of the Institutue of Career Guidance and the Higher Education Academiy
