About Nicklaus Baiz

As an engineering student I have realized that it requires much more than problem solving skills. I have found that your problem solving skills are sometimes just as important as your skills with people. Through my time at CBU I have been developing both my technical skills but also my people skills. Being an RA at CBU has lead to me developing my interpersonal skills while also developing other skills like event coordinating and planning, collaborating with other RAs, and conflict mediation. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a servant in this leadership role with other like minded individuals who do the same. On top of my experience with people I was also given the chance to enhance my technical skills as a welder and a fabricator. Not only did I learn a lot about working with steel, I learned a lot about the building process and the crucial communication between the engineer designing and the fabricator building your design actually is. Generator services also showed me what it was like to have an extremely healthy work environment where I was shown respect from my supervisors and even shown grace at times when a mistake was made.
