About Nicklaus Ramirez

Serving Veteran communities with the intent to inspire hope and create solutions. Nick's current role with Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) combines regional outreach and project management, where he: serves at-risk populations, improves visibility of services, increases Veteran participation, collaborates with various Veteran service organizations, coordinates vendor services and contracts, schedules and executes successful outreach campaigns, forecasts budgets, and implements strategic plans. Nick advances Veterans' access to WWP's national network of resource in his focus territory, which currently includes New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. While working with the Veterans Administration's Veterans Addiction Recovery Center (VARC) in Cleveland, Nick's responsibilities included: facilitating daily groups, providing one-on-one discussions, collabotating with multidisciplinary teams for individual treatment plans, assisting with the training of the psychology department's clinical interns, and serving on the DEIB to create and implement policy changes for fairer hiring practices. This past decade of serving Veterans, culminating with his WWP experience, has provided Nick with a greater understanding of Veterans' needs as well as the opportunity to develop a practice of various methods of engagement to help Veterans connect with services within their communities and find solutions. Nick started serving Veterans as a child with his family by volunteering with a Homeless Veterans Outreach program and has been serving Veterans in some capacity ever since. Today, Nick continues his volunteer service at Pittsburgh's Southwestern Veterans Center, where he runs recovery meetings for veterans who are unable to leave the facility.
