My journey in healthcare has been both challenging and rewarding, starting as a healthcare assistant on night shifts and working my way up to my current role as Home Manager of Branksome Park Care Centre. Throughout my time at Luxury Care, I have had the privilege of working closely with individuals facing various health challenges, and I have developed a deep passion for dementia care.My 11 years of experience in another care home within the company provided me with invaluable insight into the complexities of dementia and the importance of providing person-centred care. Each resident, regardless of their diagnosis, deserves to live in an environment where they feel safe, respected, and empowered to express themselves. This belief has been the foundation of my approach to care, guiding my decisions and shaping the culture I strive to foster at Branksome Park Care Centre.As I reflect on my journey, I recognize that my growth has been driven not only by a desire to advance professionally but also by a genuine commitment to improving the lives of those I care for. Dementia care, in particular, has shown me the significance of patience, empathy, and adaptability. Every individual living with dementia has unique needs, and it is our responsibility as caregivers to create an environment where they can thrive and maintain their dignity.
