Mijn werk als geotechnisch ingenieur combineer ik met een baan als ethicus/geestelijk verzorger in het ziekenhuis. Waar in het ingenieurswerk de maakbaarheid vaak op de voorgrond treedt, staat in mijn werk als ethicus de kwetsbaarheid meer centraal. Maar maakbaarheid en kwetsbaarheid staan niet los van elkaar. Je kunt niet iets moois bouwen zonder ook stil te staan bij waar het mis kan gaan in het ontwerp of de uitvoering. En geconfronteerd met de kwetsbaarheid van het leven door ziekte, start ook de zoektocht naar hoe je daartoe te verhouden en hoe daar het beste van te maken. In mijn werk probeer ik oog te houden voor beide aspecten en mijn streven is om er samen het beste van te maken!
