Called to the Bar in 1992. Practising Barrister until 2016 specialising in financial remedies, ToLaTA and Inheritance Act claims where I was regularly in the Legal 500 and cited in Chambers and Partners. Collaborative lawyer since 2007. Arbitrator since 2012. Full time District Judge from 2016 to 2022. Lead Judge in Financial Remedies Court in the North East cluster from 2017 to 2022. Having taken early retirement I now sit on a fee paid basis and joined 36 Group as a Dispute Resolution practitioner in November 2022. I undertake private FDRs, neutral evaluations, mediations, arbitrations and am available to act as a SJE in collaborative claims. I have been the international representative for the Association of District Judges at the International Association of Judges. I teach on an ad hoc basis in the law department at the University of Northumbria.
