About Nicolas Cornil

I started music at a very early age and I first had classical piano tuition at the National Conservatory of music of the Hauts-de-Seine Région. I have always had a passion for film music and has loved creating music ever since he could play the piano. This explains why I chose to study film music composition at the International Music Academy in Nancy and why I decided to specialize in this particular field. I was then admitted to Lyon’s University Masters degree in Music Applied to Visual Arts and thus continued my studies during a further two years, during which I was able to develop my skills, abilities and knowledge in this area. I have composed quite a number of very different kinds of music these past few years, including various television reports for ARTE and USHUAÏA TV. I also composed the sound track of several video games, one of which was created by Jean-Claude Van Damme, and for an animated short film ordered by FOX DIGITAL STUDIO, a FOX CENTURY subsidiary. For my film music, I won the « Best original music » prize for a film called « Monsieur Personne » in 2015 awarded by the ESRA jury. I was also awarded the « Best score 2019 » at the Deep Focus Film Festival (USA). I also wrote the music of a number of animated films that have been shown recently in many international film festivals such as the Annecy Festival and the « Interfilm » Berlin festival. These films have won many prizes, in particular the «Canal + Family Favourite » at the 2019 international festival of Clermont-Ferrand and the « Grand Jury Prize at the 2019 animated Short Nashville film festival in the USA, which enables the film to run for an Oscar. Multi-skilled, I can adapt my work and my music to film makers’ needs and to various kinds of projects whatever the style may be.
