Available from November 2024. See redshift-coding.nl for CV. I am a full-stack java/web software developer who writes neat, tested and well maintainable code. Everyone can write software, because writing software is easy, but there are only few who can write good software, because writing good software is hard. Experience helps with that. As is the drive to limit complexity. In the 23 years I worked as a software designer / developer I have seen that some things change each year. Frameworks, languages, way-of-working and processes regularly change. But a lot stays the same. For example new languages look a lot like the old ones and processes are called differently but do the similar things. And one learns most by doing and making mistakes. I also notice that the maturity of developers is much more important than the used language or framework. Maturity of management is very important as well. In the '90 and '00 I worked in a combination of C and Java client and server applications. Later added HTML, PHP, MySQL and Javascript to the mix. Since 2015 I've concentrated more on the web-applications. A new and interesting development of the past years is that the UI goes to the web-client and persistence (database) moved to the server. Currently I most enjoy working on both client as server software.
