Do you know what pallet pooling is? To be honest, I have never heard of this « concept » before starting to work for LPR … and that’s a pity! If you take it literally you quickly understand that pooling means renting but if you go further, you will realize that it also defines a circular approach of the supply chain. And what do I mean by circular approach? I mean an approach that handles environmental challenges that we are facing now! In other words, a circular approach takes part into the transition towards a more sustainable supply chain because it allows companies to reduce their environmental impact by reusing, repairing and recycling their products. You know, circular economy is not only a buzz word for me, it is something that can leads all of us to a better future : that is our common goal, something that we can only achieve together! As part of the LPR organization, I am fully aware of that because circular economy is at the heart of our business model for more than 25 years! Moreover, I personally believe in a greener supply chain, where efficiency meets sustainability, where transport optimization reduces CO² emissions, where resources are sustainably managed and where quality is certified from manufacturers to end-users : these are the reasons why LPR people are working hard every day! Today, my job consists in developing our circular and reusable packaging solutions in the supply chain across Europe. I promote pallet pooling in the FMCG sector but also in retail and it works because more and more companies are now choosing pooling instead of another type of pallet management.
