About Nicolas Wee

As a seasoned DevOps and infrastructure professional with a focus on optimal performance and efficient solutions, I have demonstrated my expertise in delivering top-notch results. Through seamless migration of self-managed Kubernetes clusters to AWS EKS utilizing Terraform and Terragrunt, I have elevated efficiency and flexibility for teams facing rapid growth. I have also played a key role in optimizing virtual machines for high-frequency trading by employing cutting-edge Linux network stack tuning techniques, thereby enhancing networking performance.During my time at Ninjavan, I had the opportunity to lead a team of 7 engineers in building prototypes with a focus on preparing for an IPO. I was responsible for the infrastructure of the team and used a multi-cloud approach, utilizing both Huawei and GCP. To streamline the process, I formalized IaC standards using Terraform coupled with Terragrunt for managing multiple modules and Helm charts for Kubernetes assets. This allowed for a seamless adoption of multi-cloud infrastructure. I also redesigned authentication through custom Operators in Kubernetes, which, when combined with Open Policy Agent, reduced the load on our systems by up to 30%.Striving for the better good of society, I have been involved with SMU SIS's owned community serve,"HeartCode". Mentoring at-risk students to tackle social problems faced by the special needs community in Singapore. Currently, the VP of SMU SIS.Hack, which provides entry level programming class to local community centre where working adults are encouraged to attend as we shift into the digital economy.Aspiring entrepreneur at heart (chosen entrepreneurship as my electives in Singapore Polytechnic) and the IDA gold medalist in Singapore Polytechnic with a cGPA of 3.96.
