About Nicole Chavers Stratton

Mrs. Nicole Chavers Stratton has been directing plays, concerts, and productions for over 15 years. Growing up, she traveled nationally with her family giving concerts in churches, schools, and conference centers. Nicole began touring with The Academy of Arts, performing music and drama, when she was only 5 years old, and has been featured as a vocal soloist and character actor on 10 recordings, distributed world-wide. Nicole began directing when she was 16, producing Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" with her fellow students. The production she directed went from the stage to film, and earned her a scholarship to Clemson University. In high school, she won numerous state awards for speech and singing and has won nationally seven times. She and her sisters were auditioned and offered roles with Disney in Orlando, Florida, but Nicole turned this opportunity down to pour her talents into young people. When she was 19, Nicole began directing productions for The Academy of Arts traveling team, in schools all over the Eastern and Mid-Western United States and has directed over 560 productions with casts ranging in size from 20 to 130 members. She earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Dramatic Productions, and has performed with The Academy of Arts in over 900 performances during the last 20 years. It is her life's mission to see young people grow in their understanding of Jesus Christ through the powerful media of Drama and Music, and to teach them to use their gifts for Him alone. Nicole teaches Acting, Directing, Philosophy of Music, Stage Movement, and Advanced Stage Makeup at The Academy of Arts Christian Conservatory in Taylors, South Carolina. Nicole’s students have won multiple national awards and were also nominated to go to Edinburgh, Scotland for an international festival in August 2016. Her work with young people in the arts was recognized by the Governor of South Carolina, and she is a sought after speaker and presenter at conferences all over the country. Nicole lives in Greer, South Carolina with her husband Noah and their son Brinton, and currently serves as the Artistic Director at The Academy of Arts Logos Theatre where she has served for 11 years.
