Sales was not where I saw my career growing up. Growing up I was adamant I would be a super star netball player, a hairdresser or a movie star. The role Sales Account Manager was never on that list, but it was always going to be my destination. From early on in my senior schooling I knew I wanted my career to involve people. In some way I wanted to be able to connect and build relationships that enhanced the world around me and inspire others to reach their potential. Choosing and finding the right pathway was a bit windy, but it lead me to be where I am today…literally. Between 2014 and 2017 I was studying a bachelor degree in Social Science. I wasn’t positive where I would end up, but I knew I wanted it to involve people from diverse backgrounds working together to better the world around us. I was broke and looking for a job that would work with my study schedule. I was extremely lucky when I was offered a part time role as a Customer Service Specialist in the office of a small, local, family run business while one of their full time staff took some maternity leave. Being young and naive I never considered it might grow to be more than just a part time gig. As I worked and completed my degree I was offered more opportunities to develop and grow within the company under some excellent guidance and eventually was offered a full time position. Which I jumped on immediately. During my time with City Country Foodservice I have had many different roles and worn many different hats. I have been a Customer Service Specialist, Accounts Receivable Assistant, Worked as an Outlet Store Assistant when needed, and now, as an Account Management. I really don’t think I could have ever foreseen where that small part time job would take me but it has unquestionably been one of the best opportunities I have been given. When I started as an Account Manager it was like a lightbulb moment, I had worked in numerous roles but I realised that they didn’t offer me the ability to use my interpersonal capabilities to their full potential. Now, I get to work one on one with consumers, building relationships, helping them unlock their potential. Working to find solutions, new and innovative ideas that advantage the consumer on their journey. I get to work with numerous different and diverse members of the community all looking for something unique that will elevate their business. Working with them, tailoring and adapting to meet industry and community standards. I get to be part of a businesses that is crushing it in the Foodservice and Hospitality Industry.
