Background
About Nicole Fleischmann
I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Central Methodist University in December of 2016 and began a high school fellowship position with Athleticare Sports Health Foundation, working as the Head Athletic Trainer at McCluer south Berkeley High School in August, 2017. For the 2018 school year I added to my role by becoming a guest teacher at McCluer South Berkeley. As the Athletic Trainer at McCluer South Berkeley, I have developed an Emergency Action Plan, coordinated mass physicals, and established healthcare for about 200 student athletes, delivering over 2,250 treatments annually. I additionally am in charge of maintaining the inventory for all supplies in the sports medicine department, developing an annual budget, and became proficient in seeking quotes, requesting, purchasing, and ordering supplies. My greatest accomplishment at McCluer South Berkeley would be becoming proficient in grant writing and receiving a grant for $7,096 to purchase 8 AEDs, which impacts around 3,700 people across the 9 communities our district serves. I have also had several responsibilities and accomplishments through Athleticare, as well. I attend weekly professional development meetings covering an array of topics to help expand my tools and knowledge. Additionally, I am the director of Social Media Marketing, coordinated experience sports medicine workshop, and have had the opportunity to be the head athletic trainer of many large scale events, such as Ruggerfest and wheelchair tennis. In addition to being an athletic trainer, I began a full-time guest teacher position, which has given me experience in classroom control, creating and implementing lesson plans, and grading. Both of these full time positions have improved my time management skills, embellished my self-discipline, and helped me develop a deeper passion for helping others, which has developed me into the professional I am today.
