About Nicole McCrary

I am a recent graduate of Drexel University’s Master’s of Library Sciences and Information Systems (MLIS) program concentrating in Archival Studies. In this program, coursework and practical application included but was not limited to: advanced research techniques and support, information ethics, managing information organizations, information systems fundamentals, electronic records management, navigation of archival access systems, content representation, and cataloging and classification. During the course of this program, I also had the opportunity to intern for the DeKalb Public Library System to gain further insight into the daily operations of an information organization from the service and processing levels. My interest in information management and archival studies stemmed from my passion for fine arts. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts (BFA) concentrating in Art History from Georgia State University. Aside from learning significant figures and movements, I was constantly challenged to break down works of art into concepts and ideas to gain a better understanding of how they fit into our social context. This was achieved through individual research and collective criticism in group and classroom environments.
