Nicole D. Otis is a dedicated health service professional and graduate of Indiana University Northwest, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Management. Currently, Nicole serves as the Outreach Director for Community Advocates of Northern Indiana (CANI), an organization committed to empowering communities toward healthier outcomes through education, advocacy, and access to essential resources. In her role, she collaborates with various partners and implements evidence-based practices, focusing on key health priorities such as Diabetes, Heart Disease, Infant & Maternal Mortality, and Behavioral Health. With a robust background in human resources and administration from her 18-year tenure at a Fortune 500 company, Nicole also fulfilled the role of community outreach liaison, emphasizing her commitment to service. Her community engagement is further exemplified through her participation on the Volunteer Board of Managers for the Merrillville Boys & Girls Club, where she served as Vice President for six years. Additionally, Nicole has led the team organizing the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk for the American Cancer Society in Greater Northwest Indiana for the past nine years, showcasing her unwavering dedication to cancer awareness and support. An active member of the Gary Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, Nicole draws inspiration to cultivate healthier communities from her husband and children. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys reading, dancing, and spending quality time with family and friends.
