About Nicole Scribner

I'm a Computer Science undergrad student at Portland State University, minoring in Applied Linguistics. I also have a strong background in video production, theater, and storytelling. My creative background dovetails beautifully with my experience in tech and contributes to excellent communication skills and a unique point of view. Whether I'm debugging a piece of code, finding the right resources to learn the next skills I need, or figuring out the best way to convey a story, my greatest strength has always been problem solving. While I'm still exploring everything the world of computer science has to offer, I am most interested in computational linguistics, natural language processing, and cognitive science. I'm fascinated by the way both humans and computers process information, and I'm most excited about anywhere those two topics intersect. Currently, I'm interested in finding an internship or work experience in the Portland area to further develop the skills I'm learning through Portland State University's Computer Science curriculum. At the moment, I'm learning C++ at breakneck speed through PSU's fantastic curriculum and exploring Python in my spare time.
