Background
About Nicole Shankle
I'm back and I'm better!" I consider myself an energetic professional with over 7 years experience working within public sectors of the banking industry, restaurant services, retail, and most recently patient care. I am sure I'm not the only person whose life shifted during and after 2020. I was an essential worker, working as a bank teller at Magyar Bank and then moved on to PNC the next year. As a bank teller, I learned so much in regards to positive customer interaction and organization. My favorite part about working in the financial industry was the fast paced nature of the job, as well as the opportunity to develop professionally. Unfortunately, my life took a turn once being informed that I needed to get surgery. After getting the surgery, I was on disability leave for about 3 months. I made the decision to leave the financial industry as a bank teller because with everything that was happening around that time, I did experience burn out. Luckily, a month later I was able to obtain a part-time position at RWJ as a patient access representative. This was very different from the financial industry because this was more about insurance and authorizations. As a patient access representative I can still apply positive customer (patient) interaction and my organizational skills. So far I have learned a great deal about hospital accounts and how a hospital needs all of its employees in order to run smoothly. It is all about teamwork. Not just patient access reps but nurses and doctors. It takes a village, literally. But this isn't my stopping ground. I do have my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts Writing but I have decided to go back to school for Paralegal Studies. Eventually, I do want to get my Bachelor's Degree in history or something writing related. Basically, I'm not ready to settle in anything just yet. I am an open book eager to learn and push myself to levels I didn't think I could go. So with that being said, I would label my brand as the Background Creative. Which simply implies that I enjoy seeing my work playout in real time. I'm someone who doesn't mind working behind the scenes, putting in the extra hours/effort to get a project done beautifully and efficiently. I do think over the years I have become more adapt to working independently. I am in the space to take on roles that require me to work more independently. Roles that have an underlining leadership quality to them. I know what I bring to the table and I know given the opportunity I will not disappoint.
