About Nicole Telkes

I was the first Registered Western Herbalist in Texas. I have a passion for educating, writing, and speaking on holistic living and herbal remedies. I have worked full time as an entrepreneur and wellness coach since 2002. As of 2018, I split my time between the Pacific NW and Austin, TX area. Since 1998, I have explored wilderness areas to find wild medicinal plants, seen clients for herbal wellness consultations, and made herbal extracts and formulations. In 2004 I added massage and bodywork into my offerings and became a continuing education provider in Massage Therapy in 2010. My experience ranges from curriculum development, project management, running a successful small business, creating and running festivals, and marketing a small, locally available, herbal products line. I am the Director and Founder of the Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine, and Moonflower Herb Fest. I freelance as a speaker for other holistic healing schools, conferences and events like the Mother Earth Living Fair. I authored the book Medicinal Plants of Texas and Herbcraft: The Complete Guide to 21st Century Holistic Western Herbalism. In 2019 I was awarded Community Service Award from the American Herbalist Guild and Community Builder Award from the American Botanical Council for my work to Free Fire Cider from trademark restriction Specialties: Clinical Herbalism, Herbal Preparations and Formulations, Bodycare and Spa Preparation and formulations, Education and Curriculum Development, Therapeutic Bodywork for Emotional and Physical Pain Management, Constitutional Therapeutics, Public Speaking.
