About Nicole van Dijk

I am a professional educator with experience across secondary, special education, and higher education, including remote teaching in the Yolŋu community of Gapuwiyak, NT. Currently, I work as a Clinical Specialist at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Education, guiding Master of Teaching candidates through the clinical teaching model. I provide evidence-based feedback, mentor pre-service teachers during professional experience placements, and foster strong partnerships between schools and the university. My teaching philosophy is grounded in inclusive and culturally responsive practice, informed by work in special education settings and cross-cultural contexts. With a background in visual arts and design, I integrate creativity, curriculum innovation, and digital literacy into teaching and learning. I am committed to building confident, reflective practitioners who are ready to meet the diverse needs of learners. My strengths include curriculum design, clinical supervision, arts integration, and community-engaged projects that connect education with real-world contexts.
