Oversees overall progress of the RCRA hazardous waste base program, including RCRA treatment, storage and/or disposal facility permitting, state program authorization, hazardous waste delisting, and other related activity. Monitors rulemaking activity at the national level and advises the Branch Chief of the implications of RCRA regulation, policy and guidance development. Assisted in the development and execution of policies and practices in environmental and public protection. For large scale projects, assisted in preparing project cost estimates, tracking budget spending using earned-value curves, flagging out of scope tasks and negotiating with clients, and forecasting cost estimates at completion. Assisting FEMA in evaluating emergency response exercises at nuclear power plants throughout the region. Managed the technical aspects of large scale projects containing radiological contamination under federal programs. Supervised engineers and scientists in performing field activities, developing project plans, analyzing data, and preparing deliverables. Supervised health physicists on project support field activities and document reviews. Radiological technical expert for many radiologically contaminated sites involving Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Pre-Design investigations, Remedial Designs, and Remedial Actions. Some of these sites comprised more than residential, recreational and commercial properties. Training emergency responders to incidents involving radioactive sources. Evaluate nuclear power plant incident exercises and flag out any issues or areas for improvement. Regional representative for the Multi-Agency Workgroup for the development of MARSSIM and its supplement MARSAME.
