About Nige Cottingham

High level strategic growth leadership, anchored on a career in Brand, Marketing, PR & Communications and enriched by an empathetic and engaging approach to leading through action. I have enjoyed spells in the UK, US, Hong Kong and NZ.but 'still call Australia home' and these days my sweet spot is in helping organisations develop and articulate their Success Strategy and in aligning both customer focus and employee culture to deliver against this. This skillset has enabled me to be industry-agnostic, working across a wide range of market sectors including Education, Rail, Water, Disability, Aged Care, Property, Travel, Printing and large Infrastructure projects. More recently, a keen interest in ‘business for good’ and ‘for purpose’ opportunity has seen me increasingly focused on supporting the growth and success of not-for-profit organisations, including the work of the Samaritans and the ever-inspiring BackTrack Youth Works. This appetite to be a part of something real now sees me committing much of my time to a local charity called Streetwork, which supports vulnerable young people (age 11-18) through a 1on1 mentoring model that better enables and empowers them to turn their young lives around. An innate communicator, my formal comms skills include full media training (on-camera, radio and some TV work), crisis management, Public Relations and significant stakeholder management experience. I enjoy a fluid and diverse command of the written word - further amplified through a natural curiosity and sharp strategic acumen.
