I am proud to serve as President of the fast-growing European Speciality Tea Association - a membership-based association working to promote and validate quality standards for teas and tea education. From tea gardens and tea workers; to blenders and tea shop owners, to tea consumers, our membership spans every element of the tea value chain. Our focus is on maintaining professional education standards, raising public awareness, and collaboration with other tea associations. While primarily targeted at speciality teas we believe that raising standards will benefit all sectors of the tea industry. Nigel has over 40 years' practical hands-on working experience in all aspects of the tea industry. Key skills: tea nursery and artisanal tea garden set up, tea industry carbon foot-printing, sustainability techniques, technical troubleshooting, technical auditing & benchmarking, sourcing & exporting tea seeds, tea value addition, tea R&D, tea industry mechanization & automation, COP reduction, marginal area tea-growing - including the USA and Europe, tea entrepreneur mentoring, artisanal and handmade tea crafting, tea industry expert witness, and trend spotting. D.N Borbora was an innovative tea engineer and the objective of the Centenary Chair named for him was to identify and lay foundations for tea processing research to guide the TRA's second century of R&D.
