About Nigel Padayachee

I have had the opportunity to work within the Motor Industry for the better part of the last 13 years at various capacities. These different positions have given me the insight into the customer’s needs and the things that can often drive customers up the wall. Over the last 8 years I have worked for 1 specific Motor Vehicle Company at an OEM level. I have worked within our Customer Care and Road Assist Division, in the field as District Aftersales Manager and more recently as the Fleet Service Manager. When considering all of these positions, the position of District Aftersales Manager is ranked as my favourite position. This position allowed me to be involved with the day to day operations at a dealer level and interact with customers as well as the workshops. I enjoyed getting my hands dirty, being at the coalface and aiding dealers in turning around their businesses. I prefer to operate with set goals, targets and deadlines, which gives me the sense of pride when achieved. This drives and excites me. I find ambiguity to be tedious and will strive to find a more structured operation. I also enjoy the opportunity to mentor and motivate people. That brings me a measure of satisfaction. It really makes me happy to see people succeed and even more so when I know that I have had a hand in that success. It is a cliché that team work makes dream work, but this is something that I firmly believe in. When a team/group of people work together to achieve something, then anything is possible. I am of the opinion that it is vitally important that a company should not be a group of individuals but rather a team that compliments each other and works with each other to achieve the organization’s goals.
