About Nigel Sylvester

I am a career IT professional, with over 30 years experience in both business development and project delivery, both in a end-user environment in a major multinational, and with tier 1 technology vendors, IBM, Fujitsu, Deloitte and now Kyndryl. My strengths are in business development, both building pipeline and closing major business, establishing sustainable relationships with clients and business partners, innovating solutions and launching new products, and building a delivery team in a dynamic environment. I have now joined Kyndryl, the world leader for designing, building and managing the infrastructure that is critical to success of organisations in the digital world. Kyndryl is an organisation with some employees, where we thrive on the challenges presented by complex infrastructure solutions across cloud,(public/hybrid/private/multi-cloud) and legacy platforms. We leverage our alliances with the best of breed vendors to deliver solutions where the need for resilience, security and performance are critical. In my previous role I led the Maximo CoE in Deloitte, where we helped our clients, in asset intensive industries across the globe, ensure that their assets deliver the best possible contribution to bottom line performance. Our clients spanned energy generation and transmission, pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturing, facilities management, transport infrastructure (roads and tunnels) and railways. Prior to joining Deloitte I had the pleasure of helping a talented team of individuals in building a significant mid-market consultancy, System Dynamics, which I joined in 2006. As a shareholder and a member of the senior management team I led the business development of System Dynamics into new markets, including our expansion into the UK, and had responsibility taking a range of offerings to market including Maximo, Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP and DevOps resourcing. By 2015 we had built the company up to 250 employees and turnover in excess €23m, and in August 2015 we were acquired by Deloitte Ireland. I am very comfortable talking at executive level in any organisation, and would be delighted to have a conversation with you to bring both my experience and Deloitte capabilities to help you solve your asset management challenges. In my downtime I play golf, ski in the winter, and have a passion for clay target shooting, a sport in which I represented Ireland. I have also sailed to international level. I enjoy giving back to sport, and sit on the Board of the ICTSA, the governing body for clay target shooting in Ireland.
