About Nigel Wright
I am a former teacher transitioning to programming. I bring 6+ years of cross-cultural learning and teaching experience to the field. Outside of a Data Science bootcamp at Le Wagon Mexico, I've learned through books, Udemy courses, and trial-and-error in my own projects (see my github). At the bootcamp I learned Python, SQL, Excel, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Keras, and much more. There I collaborated with a small team to train eight convolutional neural network models to recognize various clothing characteristics, in order to automate the task of bulk clothing labeling. Outside of work, I am a husband, father, builder, and planter. I've had the opportunity to teach in Zambia, Ecuador, Mexico, and remotely to students worldwide. I love working outdoors with my hands and am building an earthen house (see my youtube channel).
