About Nika Beukers

My name is Nika Beukers and I am currently pursuing three majors, Leadership & Management, Marketing, Advertising and a certificate in International Business while competing as a student athlete at Portland State University. I am originally from the Netherlands and decided to do my Bachelor’s in the US. This is why I speak Dutch, English, and German. Being an international student, and an elite tennis player has helped me understand different cultures, balance work school and social life, and develop teamwork and leadership skills. And last, but most importantly it has helped me to travel a lot. This made me meet people from everywhere around the world. It has also helped me adapt to people with different backgrounds and opinions. Moreover, living internationally I had to stay in contact with friends and family. Which has helped me maintain relationships. Lastly, moving across the world has helped me being independent, planning and organizing my time efficiently, and budgeting. While completing my degree in the US, I have also been working at a Dutch company remotely, Normec All Water Services. To meet new people, I also became the director of marketing for the FMA club at Portland state university. This has given me experience in managing social media accounts.
