About Nikki Friedgen

During my time at my current position I have helped create, proofread, and re-format a variety of different materials in multiple different languages for both doctors and patients participating in medical studies. I have also had the opportunity to work with clients and different study teams to create the material that best suits them and their needs and have served as a contact person to help answer questions and move projects along. I began my career as Print and Marketing Associate at the Staples in my hometown of Grand Haven, MI. After a year and a half I was promoted to Supervisor of that department taking on responsibilities such as training new associates, opening the store, and other key holder responsibilities. My team and I worked to develop a client base who counted on us to take care of their print needs. Working in a retail environment taught me how to work within a shorter deadline to get the customer what they need. I was also given the opportunity to work in other stores in Michigan to help troubleshoot and retrain people within their Print and Marketing Departments. Prior to my senior year at GVSU I did an internship with the design firm Module Media in England in their central London office during the summer of 2017. This experience was very enriching due to being able to create designs in a small firm and experiencing the culture of another country. I got to work with a variety of clients doing things like flyers, a webpage, newsletter, as well as an art program for a law firm. This experience gave me the chance to work for a few project managers and with a team of web and print designers making great friends that helped make my time there even more special.
