About Niklas Mengel

At Sparrow Quantum, we are building the future of photonic quantum computing. We recently raised a 21.5M € Series A round to build up a full-scale production line for our existing single-photon source technology while recruiting researchers to develop our next-gen entanglement sources. As Chief of Staff, I'm leading Sparrow Quantum's internal processes and ensure that our researchers and engineers have the organizational and administrative support that they need to thrive in their work. I worked closely with our leadership on the end-to-end investment process over the past few months and led our due diligence. Now, my responsibilities include: Finance & Operation; Legal, Risk & Compliance; HR & Admin; IT & Cybersecurity. I'm an experienced strategic leader, passionate about developing people and organizations. My professional journey was mostly in Finance and Governance (incl. roles in operation finance, internal audit, data analytics project management, and as CFO for startups and scaleups). I'm ex-P&G and a Certified Internal Auditor. Additionally, I have ten years of experience serving on the Board of Directors of two NGOs, leading strategy and transformation processes. As a person, I'm passionate about Diversity & Inclusion, Mental Health and Sustainability. I'm a European with broad intercultural and international experience, based in Copenhagen. If you send me a connection request and we have not met in person, please include a message of why you would like to connect.
