Background
About Nikole Pascetta
Since I have had the good fortune to work in secondary/post-secondary education with experience across public and private colleges, universities (+ independent and separate high school boards). My teaching and research interests focus on experiential learning, communicative language teaching (CLT), self-study in teacher education practices, and inclusive, collaborative education. I hold a PhD in Education with a focus on cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD) and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating on experiential learning, arts-based knowledge translation, and language as a social semiotic. I have devoted my work and teaching to underrecognized learners. I am a member of NACADA, the global community for academic advising, and a co-moderator of the International Network of Tomorrow's Leaders (INTL) Championing Subcommittee at the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). Additionally, I have co-moderated webinars on topics such as "Bettering Best Practices: Cultivating Agency for International Students"(https://vimeo.com/734345056/4a87b92648) and co-authored publications, including "Underrepresented Students and the Transition to Postsecondary Education." My academic and literary interests center on exploring the foundations of meaning-making, knowledge construction, and the expression of diverse cultures and languages.I takes inspiration from The Soka School System's educational philosophy, aka “Soka education” or “value-creative education,” where the goal of education is the realization of students' unique abilities and contributions in their learning experience. nmrk*
