Background
About Nilah Mataafa
I write a high-signal newsletter analyzing Femtech, culture, and capital through a Gen Z lens, providing global market intelligence and social impact. I explore how female health & wellness and technology shape consumer behavior and modern culture while offering actionable insights for founders, investors, and decision-makers driving innovation in women’s health. I help femtech founders, investors, and brands craft a brand strategy that actually resonates. Whether it’s refining positioning, optimizing pricing, or building a go-to-market plan that drives real traction, I make sure companies have a smooth launch and scale. I also provide deal flow insights for VCs investing in femtech and strategic guidance for brands expanding into women’s health. If that’s what you’re working on, let’s talk. I built Zahra, a menstrual health app for Muslim women that combines culturally sensitive education, accessible healthcare resources, and an engaged community to tackle systemic gaps in women’s health across the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond. Zahra is designed to bridge healthcare, education, and community while honoring Islamic values and addressing the unique needs of women in underserved regions. In addition to Zahra, I co-founded a nonprofit in college with my sister and friend that started by selling thrifted clothing from our dorm rooms. Our nonprofit is based in Lebanon and has served over women, including those displaced by war. Our mission is to provide reusable menstrual products and culturally sensitive health education, empowering women to manage their health with dignity even in the most challenging circumstances. I’ve grown and strategized a digital community of over women, generating more than 75 million views through authentic storytelling and impactful campaigns. My work amplifies voices across the Levant, Gulf, and North Africa while fostering conversations about inclusivity and empowerment. I’m passionate about driving meaningful change in FemTech and social impact, creating solutions that promote health literacy, longevity, and innovation for women worldwide.
