I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Individualized Interdisciplinary Studies Program at SFU and working at the intersection of math, computer science, and biology. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and a master’s degree in Computer Science. During my master’s, I was a member of the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Lab at the University of Tehran, Iran, working on imputation methods on sparse single-cell data and constructing Phylogenetic Trees on tumor data. Currently, I am interested in mathematical and biological diversity measures for character-based genomic data, which have applications ranging from conservation biology to vaccine design.
