About Nima Amiri

Nima Amiri is an experienced and accomplished litigator and courtroom advocate who represents individuals in Family and Divorce and Criminal Law matters in Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, Milton, Brampton, and throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Nima began his legal career as an articling student and associate lawyer at a prominent criminal defence firm in Toronto. As a criminal defence lawyer, Nima received an intensive, practical education in advocacy and negotiation while representing scared, anxious, and often-vulnerable clients in Toronto's many busy courthouses on a daily basis. Nima has successfully represented clients charged with a variety of offences, ranging from drug possession to first-degree murder during motions, preliminary inquiries, and trials. Although he still maintains a limited criminal practice, Nima now applies the proven litigation skills he developed as a criminal defence lawyer to protect to the rights of individuals going through a separation or divorce. Nima received his Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law, where he was among the top of his class in Family and Criminal Law courses. While at the University of Calgary, Nima was a caseworker at the Faculty of Law's Student Legal Assistance legal aid clinic, where he represented low-income Calgarians in Civil and Criminal Law matters in the Provincial Court of Alberta. Nima was also elected by his peers to represent the student body on the Faculty of Law's Admissions Committee for a two-year term.
