About Nimisha Thomas

Nimisha is a Bar qualified lawyer with a common law background, specializing in international dispute resolution, international trade & business laws. Currently, on leave from her role as an Assistant Professor & Assistant Dean at QS ranked - Jindal Global Law School, she is involved in policy making. She was part of the legal advisory team involved in international trade negotiations (Free Trade Agreements) undertaken by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. Currently, she is supporting the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India as a Consultant at the G-20 Secretariat. She has previously worked with organizations such as the Ministry of External Affairs (Government of India), and Sai Krishna & Associates, in matters pertaining to multiple fields of law and governmental rules such as the Passport Manual, IP law, arbitration law. She has also received training in litigation at various courts of the country like the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, District Courts of Delhi and the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission. Her areas of interest and research include commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, construction arbitration, human rights, international trade law, investment law, cyber laws and intellectual property laws. During her post-graduation, she undertook research on the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development’s project on the changing landscape of International Investment Agreements. She is particularly skilled in legal analysis owing to her experience in academia and policy making. Other than her professional pursuits, she is a health enthusiast who promotes Ayurveda as a way of living and is actively involved in its propagation.
