About Nina Ameri

The entertainment industry is in my blood. My father was an editor and cinematographer who worked on some of the most groundbreaking films in the horror gore genre. I did not inherit his talent, but I did acquire the same passion for the film and television industry. As such, while I was a student at UCLA I decided I would pursue a career in entertainment law. I attended Pepperdine Law School where I served as the President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. After graduation I took the untraditional path of working for a tax relief company where I learned the ins and outs of negotiating with the IRS. This background served as an entry into entertainment law. Ameri Law, PC focuses on entertainment, intellectual property and business transactions in both traditional media such as film and TV as well as social media and new media platforms. In the realm of entertainment law I represent independent film producers (narrative and documentary), production companies, writers, actors, and directors in a variety of transactions ranging from: acquisition of intellectual property and life story rights, corporate formation, talent agreements, writer agreements, producer agreements, director agreements, music licensing agreements for independent motion pictures, sales agency and distribution agreements. I also represent influencers in connection with drafting and negotiating agreements to license their name and likeness with brands, negotiating collaboration agreements with other influencers/creators and protecting their intellectual property. Within the sphere of intellectual property law I have substantial experience assisting clients in prosecuting, protecting and defending trademarks and copyrights. I regularly counsel clients on trademark selection, clearance, registration and licensing. My client's are in various industries including but not limited to, entertainment and media, apparel and footwear, real estate, beauty and cosmetics, health and wellness and technology and direct marketing.
