Background
About Nina Murphy
I am a creative artist who works in the mediums of movement/dance, choreography, and photography and I currently reside in Helena, MT as a dance instructor/choreographer at Creative Arts Center and Cohesion Dance Project. I am a 2020 graduate from the University of Wyoming’s Department of Theatre and Dance with a BFA in Dance Performance and Honors. As a performer/dancer I have backgrounds in ballet, modern (Limón and Graham technique experience), jazz, tap and vertical dance. My teaching experience consists of K-12 in a studio setting, guest teaching in Laramie High School’s theatre classes, and assistant teaching at the University of Wyoming’s Department of Theatre and Dance Vertical Dance class under Margaret Wilson and Neil Humphrey. I have experience in costume construction as well as costume design for both theatre and dance productions. My choreographic experience spans from small black box works and dance films to site specific and studio recitals. I believe in the healing power of art and the importance of movement on the mind, body, and soul.
