About Nina Smith

When I formed Neuro Matters my key priority was to give people what they WANT as well as what they need; regardless of their condition, the amount of time since injury or diagnosis, previous rehabilitation intervention or where they are treated. After 30 years of working in neurological rehabilitation, I'm still passionate about helping people to exceed their goals and never cease to be amazed at the capacity for change in the human central nervous system - it rocks! I am passionate about providing flexible, creative and innovative rehabilitation solutions for adults and children with complex needs. I am committed to ensuring functional progress and goal attainment for my clients by listening to what they want to achieve, harnessing neuroplasticity, using new technologies and treatment approaches; such as the Interactive Metronome, Elastic Therapeutic taping, computer gaming, Saebo devices, and a variety of Functional Electrical Stimulation (F.E.S.) devices. My mission is to enable each client, their family and carers to make the most of their rehabilitation. Every treatment session is different, in response to each individual's needs, motivation, what is meaningful for them and their goals - I love the challenge of making therapy work in a realistic, client-centred way. Client referrals are accepted from Case Managers, Health and Social Care Professionals, Personal Injury Solicitors, Insurers, Voluntary Organisations and individuals. Many of my clients recommend Neuro Matters to others; I am always happy to accept self-referrals and can organise input at the request of relatives and carers. I am fully trained and extremely experienced in the legal aspects of quantum report writing and undertake Expert Witness work in accordance with Part 35 of Civil Procedure Rules.
