About Niqui Merret

I love building high-performing teams and accessible technology experiences.I'm passionate about fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment for diverse teams. As an industry leader with over 20 years of experience in product, web and mobile development, I leverage my knowledge of accessibility, performance, and SEO to deliver impactful user experiences.I've been fortunate to work in many different roles at ConsumerAffairs, most recently taking on the role of Senior Product Manager. Previously, I led a distributed, remote team of engineers at ConsumerAffairs. Over the past few years, I developed the team into a highly efficient unit that consistently delivered quality code on time. My focus is on creating an environment that supports diversity, encourages clear and open communication, and promotes teamwork.Earlier in my career, as a Flash developer, I actively advocated for accessible web experiences through conference presentations and workshops. I was a certified Adobe and Macromedia instructor, teaching various products such as Flash, Director, and Photoshop. For many years, I actively participated in community initiatives, including early BarCamps and Hack Days in London. Before my move to the UK, I contributed to developing e-Learning content for Project Literacy in South Africa and delivered training as part of a UNESCO women's empowerment program in Mozambique. During this time, I led the Macromedia (Flash) User Group in Johannesburg, South Africa.
