About Nir Prasad Dahal

I have been working in monitoring & evaluation and research field for more than 15 years. Now, I am working with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for Ukraine Response, particularly supporting Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) to build their capacity on Planning Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting (PMER) & overall quality assurance including cross-cutting sectors such as Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA), Protection Gender and Inclusion (PGI). My previous roles include MEL Delegate with American Red Cross based in Manila, Philippines; PMEAL Delegate with IFRC in Bangladesh. Before Red Cross Movement engagement, I was working with Save the Children as roving humanitarian surge team - Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Adviser and Save the Children, Nepal country office as MEAL Manager. Before Save the Children, I was working in Afghanistan for a research company, i.e, Eureka Research, as a Researcher/Quantitative Data Analyst. I also worked as Gender Analyst for Southeast Asia Urban Environmental Management Application (SEA-UEMA) Project, AIT-CIDA, Thailand. Before joining Eureka Research (Afghanistan) and the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) I worked for many national and international organizations that were also directly related to development and research concerns. For example, while working in the Nepal Institute of Peace as Research Manager, I was involved in many researches as well as monitoring and evaluation projects regarding conflict-induced internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Nepal. I hold M.Sc. in Gender and Development Studies from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and another Master’s Degree in Population Studies from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. In addition to conducting marketing surveys and social research, I am very much familiar with Database Programs (MS Access and Oracle) and Statistical Analysis Tools such as SPSS and STATA. Moreover, I have adequate knowledge of qualitative methods for data collection and analysis (observation, texts, interview, transcripts, etc,) as well as analysis tools such as NVivo software program. I have written articles on gender, occupational safety and health, reproductive health, IDPs and migration.
