About Nirmala Narayan
With over six years of work experience in education and research, I am a passionate and dedicated visiting scholar at the Education and Inequality Cross-Disciplinary Research Team (EI-CRT) at The George Washington University. My core competencies include cultural studies, qualitative research design and methods, and textual analysis. My mission is to explore and address the complex and multifaceted issues of education and inequality in various contexts and settings. I am committed to advancing the field of education and contributing to the social good through rigorous and innovative research. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the EI-CRT, as I have studied and worked in different countries, such as British Hong Kong, India the United States As a visiting scholar at the EI-CRT, I collaborate with faculty members and other researchers on various projects related to education and inequality. I also conduct my own independent research on topics such as the role of culture and identity in education, the impact of globalization and migration on education, and the challenges and opportunities of online and hybrid learning. I use various qualitative research methods, such as interviews, observations, document analysis, and discourse analysis, to collect and analyze data. I also write and publish academic articles, book chapters, and reports based on my research findings. Some of my skills that I use and develop in my role are English teaching, literary criticism, and textual analysis.
