About Nirvair Ghatorae

I’m a highly dedicated humanitarian and international development professional. I have recently started an STA as Assistant Program Officer for Africa, supporting European funded programmes implemented in Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Tunisia and Zimbabwe. I am very excited to work in the Africa team for the next few months, and I am looking forward to experience Mercy Corps' work from a programmatic perspective. In my role as Compliance, Governance and Risk Coordinator for Mercy Corps, I provided support to the Mercy Corps Europe and Netherlands headquarters and field operations in relation to compliance with European donor regulations. I also worked alongside the US based Compliance and Legal teams to ensure that Mercy Corps fulfils its responsibility to donors, the NGO community, implementing partners and other stakeholders, and is in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
