I am a recent MS Mechanical Engineer, graduated from Michigan Technological University this May and am actively seeking full time opportunities in the field of mechanical engineering. You can contact me at nkdeshka@mtu.edu | 906-370-6781I’ve focused my education and project work on new product design and development in the automotive field, as it was my father’s work at a CAT dealer in India that gave me my first glimpses of some of the largest earth moving equipment in the world hard at work. And it was those experiences that inspired me to become a Mechanical Engineer.Along with my coursework, I've been able to work on a number of projects, including a very unique project that has actually allowed me to help my fellow countrymen. We designed a product for cycle rickshaw pullers to integrate a way for them to provide an additional service during their idle time, so they could earn more money, raising their quality of life, but most importantly, allowing them to educate their children and break the cycle of poverty. Other projects include: Front Impact Crash Analysis of a Chassis, Static Structural Analysis of Housing of a Scroll Compressor, Design of an Automated Bar Cutting Machine and Application of Lean principles in Hospital Management. I've enjoyed leading undergraduate students with their Product Realization coursework, and I also work as a Front Desk Receptionist for 15 - 20 hours a week with my full time course schedule. All of these experiences have helped me develop strong communication, multitasking, problem solving, leadership, organizational and project management skills. Having had a successful, demanding, and rigorous academic experience, I am now eager to begin my professional career. I'm confident that I will make an immediate and significant contribution to your team, and I'm ready to work hard to exceed your expectations.
