About Nishant Pathak

As a Senior Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, I have been developing indigenous Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems for the past few years. My work involves creating heralded single photon sources and generating entangled photons through Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion (SPDC) processes, as well as designing and implementing QKD systems using various established protocols. I have developed QKD systems on protocols like BB84, B92, DPS, COW and BBM92. I played a leading role in India's first QKD demonstration between two cities, 100 km apart, which was celebrated by the Government of India. I have also mentored several B.Tech and Master's degree students in pursuing cutting-edge research projects in this field. My core competencies also include working with telecommunications fiber components and devices, simulating optical phenomena using COMSOL Multiphysics, and conducting experiments in free-space classical optics. I have also acquired skills in Machine Learning, Web Development, Blogging, Photography, and Singing, as I believe in continuous self-improvement and exploration of diverse domains.
