About Nishar Shaikh

Nishar Shaikh is an experienced Supply Chain professional with more than 15 years of Project Procurement, Contracts and Procurement experience within Oil & Gas and Transmission & Distribution Industries. Nishar began his career in Supply Chain career in India after joining Torrent Power AEC Ltd. and was involved in various Transmission and Distribution projects. In 2009, Nishar joined SNC-Lavalin and progressed to Procurement and Contracts Manager. At SNC-Lavalin, Nishar managed various utility projects including 800M South Alberta Transmission Reinforcement project and 500M Heartland project. At SNC-Lavalin, Nishar responsibility was developing Supply Chain Strategy, overseeing execution, change management, mitigating contract disputes. In 2012, Nishar joined AMEC as Procurement Lead and supervised procurement team while leading procurement for 600M Shell Debottlenecking project (Albian Sand Expansion) as an EPCM contractor. Since 2013, Nishar has been working at TC Energy and has managed multimillion engineering and construction contracts for Oil & Gas pipelines and facilities. Nishar has developed Contract Strategy Processes as part of process improvement. Nishar has successfully led execution of White Spruce Pipeline Project which was on budget and schedule while leading implementation of strategy, timely execution of contracts, change management and closeout. Nishar in his current role as Sourcing Lead on Coastal GasLink Project has led execution of multimillion contracting while engaging various stakeholders including external client. Nishar managed development of strategy including market drivers, identification of capable contractors, negotiation of complex contracts, proactive identification of risks and its mitigation. Nishar is able to communicate to multiple levels of management with confidence. His success is attributed to his exceptional organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively. He fosters close ties with his customers, vendors, contractors and team, which creates an environment where confidence, integrity and respect prevail.
