About Nithya Menon

An engineering graduate from Harvey Mudd College, I have 7 years of experience developing technology targeted towards empowering marginalized and developing communities world-wide. I have worked with leading social enterprises in India, Myanmar, Mali, and Cambodia to develop affordable, sustainable, and innovative water and agricultural tools for off-grid communities. In the early days of Okra, I applied knowledge of embedded electronics systems and fullstack software experience to design and build Okra's key power sharing algorithms, iot firmware, and grid management platform. I champion women in stem and have represented Okra to win Empower a Billion Lives award. I now lead product strategy and development driving the direction and decisions across all dimensions of Okra's technology. My engineering background and passion for human centered design come together in my mission to achieve universal energy access through off-grid energy technologies and solutions.
