About Nitin Mandhan

I am a practicing architect who graduated from Mumbai University’s Rizvi college of Architecture (RCA) in 2020. In 2018-19 as an undergraduate student, I spearheaded a team of fellow students for RCA publication, exhibition and video documentary, in collaboration with Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC)(Education Programme), Switzerland to document two Aga Khan Award for Architecture (AKAA) winning housing projects in Indore city. For my undergraduate design dissertation (2019-2020), I ventured into socio-cultural anthropology to explore how culture brings sense of belonging and affects conservation of built heritage in my home state Haryana. I got to start my practice with the opportunity to work on a uniquely curated project- Abohar Urban Fellowship in the capacity of a Junior Fellow. The fellowship was based on studio model and explored the concepts of inclusitivity, sustainability and equity for the urban design of multiple sites in the small border city of Abohar, Punjab. The project has been ongoing since 2021. Post the fellowship, I joined hands with my AUF colleague Apoorva to rebrand and relaunch her architectural practise- Studio 697 situated in Chandigarh. I have been working as an Architect, Interior Designer and Site Architect for Ant Studio since the fall of 2022.
