About Nitish Sinha

I am a development professional with over 20 years of experience, including more than 9 years with Reliance Foundation, where I’ve worked across Development Support Services, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), and currently lead Program Monitoring under the Rural Transformation portfolio. My core strength lies in translating data into insights that inform strategy and improve program effectiveness. Over the years, I have designed and implemented M&E frameworks, led outcome assessments, midline studies, and rapid evaluations, and contributed to program planning across agriculture, fisheries, and livestock sectors. I have also supported joint studies conducted by institutions such as NCAER and KIIT University by assisting with field coordination and ensuring data quality checks. Early in my tenure, I led geo-spatial mapping efforts covering hundreds of hectares of agricultural and wasteland and conducted hydrological assessments to support planning of water harvesting structures. I’ve also supported in annual reports, award applications, and visual impact reporting using tools like ArcGIS and Power BI. In times of crisis, I have contributed to large-scale disaster response efforts—including flood and cyclone relief in Bihar, Odisha, and Punjab—as well as leading COVID-19 relief coordination across all 24 districts of Jharkhand and parts of West Bengal. I believe in combining data, empathy, and local engagement to deliver meaningful and lasting development outcomes.
