About Nitzan Shalev

I am an editor and translator currently working as a Production Editor for Brill. In this role, I edit scholarly books (Humanities, especially Classics, Religious studies, and Biblical studies); maintain production workflow in content management software; and liaise with multinational authors, editors, typesetters, and designers. I graduated Cum Laude from Leiden University with an M.A. in Book and Digital Media Studies, where I focused on academic publishing and Open Access, medieval Hebrew manuscripts and the way they are cataloged, and how the Digital Humanities can enhance our access to cultural heritage items. I am experienced in editing and publishing in both academic and literary journals and have a keen eye for detail, clarity, and style. I studied translation at Tel Aviv University and have nearly seven years of experience as a freelance translator (English ⇄ Hebrew). I also have a professional background in public relations and journalism; I have extensive experience conducting interviews, writing newspaper articles, and producing radio segments.
