About Noah Absalon

Noah Absalon is a senior majoring in Neurobiology and Physiology, on the pre-med track, at the University of Maryland, College Park. During his time at UMD, Noah has served in various leadership roles within the Maryland Mentor Corps, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, the Mid Atlantic Association of Alpha Phi Alpha Chapters, Flower STEM, and as an undergraduate teaching assistant. In his free time, he loves to mentor and share his experiences with disadvantaged elementary school students, high school students transitioning into college, and underclassmen STEM majors through programs such as the MentorMe, Peer2Peer, and Flower Buds program. He has a deep value for community service and helping others as he has continued to serve as a Red Cross Volunteer since his freshman year and contributed to the campus and surrounding community through his involvement in student organizations. He continues to heavily immerse himself in the medical field as he has served as a medical receptionist, scribe, physical therapy technician, and is currently working as a medical assistant under First Call Urgent Care on the front lines against COVID-19. Additionally, he is interning and serving as a surgical assistant at an outpatient cosmetic surgery clinic under triple board certified surgeon, Dr. Tsion Berhane. He has actively participated in research as he served as an undergraduate research assistant at the National Institutes of Health: through the C-SOAR program and at the University of Maryland through the FIRE Program. Noah is always looking for new ways to give back to the community, new people to meet, and opportunities to actively serve and gain more experience in the medical field.
